V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N.

VT/Boston/IBYC was an absolute blast. Loved it, even though it rained most of the time I was there. I flew to Boston on Saturday (picked up an "O" magazine, a "GQ" and some snacks in the aiport for $13.33) and drove up to VT, spent the night at the Essex Inn with KB and $87 on dinner and drinks (yay steak dinners!), on Sunday dropped $13.62 on gas, $7.71 on Wendy's, $35.96 on wine for to enjoy with dinner with Holli and Joe and as a thank you for letting me stay at their beautiful house, and $1.75 on a diet Coke to keep me awake through the drive back to Boston. Had a lovely dinner with H&J and Ian at their house on Sunday evening, and stayed in their oh-soooo-comfy guest bed with Ian.

And then I got tired of exposition :)

Going Local (sort of)

I am starting to see some pay off from the $500+ investment this spring in a summer farm share. Although the rainy spring has put a damper on veggie growth so most things will be a few weeks later than anticipated, I did get mustard greens, spring onions, basil, chives, garlic scapes and fresh eggs this week. For dinner tonight I had the eggs with some shallots, feta, and the local chives along with a salad of local greens, raisins, and pecans. All in all pretty delicious and quite nice looking!

Debt Update

I am really excited. As of June 15 I will be down to $1,637 of credit card debt. I should get my $700 security deposit back from my D.C. apartment no later than mid-July, which will take me below $1,000, which means that I can 100% absolutely without a doubt pay off ALL of my credit card debt in July! Holy crap! I can't believe this is actually so close to really happening . . .
